How We Got Started
Black Girls Love Outdoors Too was founded by a passionate Black woman Gloria Johnson CEO of Glamorous Events by Gloria and Founder & Executive Director of Non-Profit 501c3 Glamorous Events by Gloria Dreams to Reality.
Gloria Johnson shares a deep love for nature and a bold vision to make the outdoors more inclusive. What started as weekend hikes, camping and quiet moments by the water bringing people with her who have never been, turned into a mission: to create a space where Black women and girls feel welcomed, inspired, and empowered to explore the natural world.
Tired of not seeing themselves reflected in outdoor communities, the founder decided to change the narrative. Through guided adventures, community events, and educational resources, her aim is to reconnect Black women with the healing power of nature—and remind the world that we belong outside too.
